The Duncraig Creative & Performing Arts Program is an exciting, interdisciplinary arts program for students in Years 7 & 8, led by specialist teachers and support staff. The program provides immersion and extension across the Arts, with a focus on one of two pathways.
1) Creative Arts – Students build practical skills and knowledge in Visual Arts, Media, Photography, Digital and Graphic Arts.
2) Performing Arts – Students build practical skills and knowledge in Drama, Voice and Movement for performance.
The learning in both pathways is extended through weekly, one-hour Arts Projects workshops, held after school. Workshops are highly practical and will build skills that are demonstrated through student performances and exhibitions.
Enrolment in the program leads to a minimum selection of two Arts units in Year 9 and 10, further developing students’ skills in their area of interest and preparing them for success in our Senior School Arts courses.
The program is designed to give students exposure to a broad range of arts skills and practices linking to university and VET opportunities in the Creative and Performing Arts industries.
The first intake of up to 32 students will be for Year 7 students commencing in 2027.

Application Process: Year 7 2027
1) Complete the Duncraig Senior High School Enrolment application form, and select ‘Creative & Performing Arts’ under ‘Do you wish to apply for a school based program?’ on the first page.
This will register your expression of interest for the Creative & Performing Arts Program.
Expressions of interest will close on Friday, July 24th 2026, at 4pm.
2) Guardians of students who submit an expression of interest to join the program in Year 7 will be contacted after the closing date with further information regarding the application and selection process, which will be held during Term 3 2026.
Students wanting to enrol in the Creative Arts pathway will be required to submit a portfolio of work that demonstrates aptitude in art, media, photography and/or digital and graphic art.
Students wanting to join the Performing Arts pathway will be required to attend a short audition as part of the selection process.
