Duncraig SHS has commenced works on a new building project as a result of $32.3M funding received from the State Government as part of an election promise to upgrade the school. This marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to providing the best possible learning environment for our students.
The new building will encompass:
- A new 16 classroom English block
- A new 12 Lab Science block
- Repurposed Science block to IT / STEM
- Repurposed General Block to Visual Arts
- Upgraded Maths staff office
- Additional parking
While we’re thrilled about the changes taking place, we understand that construction might bring some temporary inconveniences. Please rest assured that we are working diligently to minimize disruptions and maintain a safe and sustainable environment throughout the process. We are excited to announce that the Stage 1 Redevelopment of our school – construction of a new Science and English block (28 classrooms) – is right on schedule. Our Principal and Heads of English and Science got to complete a first walkthrough and look at the new buildings. The buildings will be open for business in November 2024! Works will continue over the summer and into 2025 to repurpose the old Science and English blocks. Thank you all for your patience with the ongoing building works.
