Parent SEQTA Engage & Cyber Safety Evenings
07 February 2019
These two very informative and interesting evenings were presented to parents on the evening of Thursday, February 7. Technologies Head of Learning Area Mr Wade Norman presented to approximately 150 interested parents. SEQTA is a valuable form of communication between the school, teachers and parents and the presentation enhanced the use of this medium for parents to monitor their child’s progress while at school. The Cyber Safety presentation to Years 7-9 parents was well attended and complemented the presentations that were delivered to all Years 7-9 students in this first week. With the increasing levels of technology in the home and workforce, and with the popularity of social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram, it is important that students and their parents are educated around the safety and security aspects of using technology. Ensuring appropriate use of technology is an important aspect of our school’s BYOD policy.
