GIFTED AND TALENTED PROGRAM
The Department of Education of Western Australia provides two levels of provision for Gifted and Talented students – supplementary and school-based. The Gifted and Talented program is offered only at selected high schools across the metropolitan area. Duncraig Senior High School is one of these schools.
The Gifted and Talented program at Duncraig Senior High School provides a program extending/accelerating students from Years 7 to 12, in the areas of Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences and English.
The program enables the most Gifted and Talented students to interact with their peers at a higher level than can normally be provided within a regular classroom or school. Both within and beyond the classroom the Gifted and Talented program at Duncraig provides opportunities for students to participate in a program that promotes academic rigour within a supportive and enjoyable learning environment.
Entry into this program is only available through a rigorous testing process, with annual testing held in March. This year, the testing day will be Saturday 12 March 2022. The deadline date for applications has is Sunday, 13 February 2022. Students who are successful in gaining a place in this program do not need to reside within our intake area.
