Students must have the ability to play at least one musical instrument or sing to a reasonable level. Ability to read music is an advantage.
Course Description:

CUAIND201 - Develop and apply creative arts industry knowledge
ELECTIVE Units of Competency:
CUAMPF201 - Play or sing simple musical pieces
CUAMPF203 - Develop ensemble skills for playing or singing music
CUASTA202 - Assist with bump in and bump out of shows
CUASOU202 - Perform basic sound editing
CUASOU203 - Assist with sound recordings
Additional Information:

This course will be completed over two years.

This course is suited to students who wish to develop the basic skills required to work in the music industry, particularly in a performance role. On completing the course, students will be able to rehearse and perform in solo or group situations and will be able to effectively create and edit a sound recording or digital composition using simple software and recording equipment.
This course is a preparatory qualification that can be used as a pathway into Certificate III in Music Industry
